hurricane party!

so on our last day in colorado we made fried squash blossoms 

which actually turned out pretty good

and then we all went to my house 

where we decided to make a devils food cake but it called for meringue frosting which was sooo hard to whip by hand 

so we all took turns

and pretty much died

but finally formed stiff peaks!!

and after frosting the middle layer it looked like a giant whoppie pie :)

so we took a victory shot for all our hard work..

iced it to look like a hurricane...

and reaped the fruits of our labour
