so every year we drive down south to South Carolina to visit my grandmother and go to the beach :)
so first we drove along skyline drive in Virginia which was absolutely beautiful
and through all these beautiful forests
and the view from the top was pretty crazy...yet only 3,000 feet, not much compared to the 7,000 feet of boulder, co haha but still amazing
and there was this little bee :)
then we came into New Market, VA, where we stay every year which is like the smallest, quietest town on earth
and there was almost nothing open except this antique store
which had some really nice things inside, including these glass bottles that I was obsessed with
and of course there's the southern kitchen, which we usually eat at every year but this time..
we tried this bbq place, and I got the baby back ribs gahh sooo good. Ok I don't know if you can read the description but it says 'marinated for hours and slow cooked for more than 8 hours' like really, is that even legal?
and this is them :)
...they were really good
then we drove by this old battlefield from the Civil War
and the mimosa flowers were in bloom and they smelled sooo good
and as usual we drove through this old old graveyard, one of the first places I ever drove, even before I got my license
and then we came back to the bed and breakfast and played scrabble on the porch
the next day we stopped by 'foamhenge' probably the weirdest and best places ever haha
and there's this wizard just chillin there
yep, it's actually a to scale replica of the famous stone henge
...made out of foam hahaha
and I just can't quite decide how I feel about it haha
then we drove through buchanan virginia where this swinging bridge is
which actually swings back and forth and is pretty scary haha
and we tried to go to this old fashioned sandwich store but it was closed on Mondays soo
we went to this restaurant called the north star, which some local recommended which ended up not being that good, especially when they served us bbq sandwiches with like a whole bag of bbq chips on the side...uh why?
and then it rained so badly that we had to pull off the road
and then again haha
